Karen is pictured here with a piece she created from scrap pieces of fabric while serving time for a crime she committed in 1989. “Throughout my 35 long years of incarceration, I stayed mindful how important it was to have faith that someday I would walk out the gate into freedom. The faith of one small flame in the dark helped me get through the roughest times.”
